    What Makes A Good Boss
Being a boss is not the same as being a Leader. Supervisors and Managers should aspire to be Leaders. A boss has the title, a Leader as the people.

    High Five HR Podcast
Well done, SHRM. These episodes are timely, relevant, and listening or reading them count toward recertification. Well done!
  • Fahrvergnügen
Good podcast. Recertification PDCs often don't work, though.
Good podcast! The SHRM recertification PDCs of new episodes often do not work on the recertification portal, however.

Good info, PDCs never work though
This is a good, insightful program, but the PDC credits are rarely accepted

    Insights that are essential
I loved Ambers interview with Susan Gygax. As I continue to grow my own company and take on more hats, it’s always great to hear the employees perspective and to not assume anything.

Useful Ideas and Tips for HR Professionals
Three rotating hosts — Amber Clayton, Wendy Fong and Gloria Sinclair Miller and — conduct regular In depth interviews with human resources experts. Any HR professional will find useful ideas and tips here that can be used in the workplace. Many of the shows also can be applied toward receiving professional credentials from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), which publishes the podcast.

HR during pandemic in the Grocery industry
Hi There, I love the posted cast. Great real life information. I wanted to know if you could talk about the Grocery industry and how the pandemic has impacted the employees and the roll of the HR manager. I currently work in the Grocery industry, working alongside the Store Managers and HR Manager. The grocery employees have been hit hard with the per, drying and after math of the pandemic. It has put tremendous amount of stress on all aspects of the grocery industry. From the description to the cashiers. Over worked , short staffed, and customer aggression. Thank you for your time Sara Keck

Good range of topics but generalizations annoy me
I enjoy the podcast, especially the range of topics discussed. Callie does a nice job of keeping the tone conversational. My only criticism is that there are comments that generalize and perpetuate HR stereotypes: Typically HR people don’t like math, HR usually doesn’t learn the business, etc. Maybe I’m being picky, but I don’t see how these statements contribute to the discussion.

    An episode suggestion!
I am a senior at a SUNY college about to graduate this week (may 18th) with my HRM bachelors degree. Would love to hear an episode with some insider tips for navigating the open job market for new grads, and a few ways to stand out as someone who didn’t get much HR workplace experience during school. Thanks and keep up with the good work!

Really want to like this but..
Love the topics that are covered, but the host is hard to listen to. On the surface she seems open and interested, but her questions have underlying opinions that are generally antiquated mindset when it comes to great people leadership; basically every bad corporate HR person. Also, the bad webex-call audio doesn’t help...

    SHRM can’t afford audio equipment
I’ve listened to MANY self funded podcasts with audio that was 1000 times better. The most recent episode literally hurt my ears. Invest in your audio quality- otherwise, why bother?
  • EliPhoenix
    Audio is so bad
I would love to listen to this podcast but the audio is unbearable! It sounds like a prison I interview conducted over the phone for the entire thing. The content might be awesome but given what a pain it is to listen it’s not worth it for me. Dying for a high quality HR podcast option!!

    Valuable content, re-think audio
Love the content here, but could only give 3 stars because of the poor audio quality. Good job overall!
