This podcast has been a great resource for so long. Def worth listening to old episodes, but the new membership feels a bit scammy and pushed. Unfortunately actors don’t need more things to subscribe to, we already have enough to invest it. Also the Gabrielle collab doesn’t feel authentic. Love Sam, and her solo episodes are great and so are the interviews.

Sam is amazing. Natural interviewer. She and her guests give candid info we all want to know about the industry. I am not a fan of the random Gabrielle-collab episodes (unless it’s an interview episode). Gabrielle seems cool, but I come here to hear Sam’s insight. I think they have a business together but I’m not sure why it bleeds over into OBA. Lately the episodes haven’t been as acting heavy (not sure if that’s due to the strike/slow auditions) but hopefully the non-subscriber episodes return on a more regular basis.

I’ve been a SAG actress for 5 years now and it’s been filled with ups and downs. Discovering this podcast has given me lots of motivation and inspiration to keep on going. Also to be ok with the lows at times too. Thank you so much Sam for your advice!

Should change the name from “One Broke Actress” to “One Rich Actress” as I can think of at least 3 episodes where she talks about how much money she has. We get it. You’re making money from Content Creating. I liked the earlier episodes without Gabrielle better.

Thank you for your transparency on this episode. It’s surprising how scared folks are to discuss pay (in any occupy) and after a strike, where it’s all about pay, we need to hear this. I finally had the light bulb moment and joined SAG-Aftra this year after the last couple years of so many actor friends and my team telling me to wait or go Fi-Core and I don’t regret it in the least.

So real and raw! I feel like I’m not on this journey alone. When I’m feeling lost or need some encouragement I listen to this podcast. Thank you Sam for sharing and helping us get through this whirlwind of a career!

Sam brings the good, bad, and the ugly of the acting industry in real talk. She’s approachable, honest and easy to listen to whilst going about your day. I turn to her podcast especially when I want to feel a sense of community or need a temperature check on the biz so I don’t feel as alone or insane. I love her positive mindset and think she is an excellent resource!

So rare to find such an authentic, tell it like it is voice in Hollywood WITH humor and kindness. New actors will find so many helpful tips and those who have been around the block too.

Sam is a WEALTH of honest info about this industry. She takes the time to really talk about a lot of topics others avoid or sweep under the rug - the good, the bad, and the ugly - and she’s just super transparent about what actor life is really like. Sam gives a fresh, transparent, and honest look into the life of an actor. I came across Sam’s podcast in 2020, and it has been a true gem in especially hard times. The reassurance, guidance, and hope Sam’s content has given me and many others is a gift, especially when things get tough. If you are in the entertainment industry and haven’t listened to Sam’s podcast you need too!

What I like most about this podcast is it really is for every level of actor in the business. Many acting podcasts gloss over the journey and this one helps you feel like Sam is on the same level and “in the trenches” with you. The five year plan makes me laugh, because in my youth I was doing the same thing and quickly learned a 5 year plan is better thrown in the fire. There’s not one road to success there are many and Sam reminds her listeners of that with humour and relatability. Her wins become your wins and your wins become hers. This podcast has become more than educational listening, it’s become a community, and for that I’m thankful.

I love Sam Valentine’s show so much. I’m a career actor but brand new to LA, and this show has been absolutely invaluable in helping me navigate the biggest actors’ market in the world. Her guests are warm, genuine industry people who give truly useful info that demystifies this career choice - in essence, when you listen to One Broke Actress, you are getting the TRUTH. Sam’s podcast is one of the best out there! She gets such great guests with valuable information to give. What’s unique about her show is that it addressed the whole actor.
