Atticus25Beatle$I’m a Buskin fan, but who’s got extra cash lying around to pay for podcasts?
-
DarthCat4QTipWAITING FOR A TRIUMPHANT RETURN!The Beatles Naked was without a doubt THE BEST Beatles podcast out there. What happened? 5 minute clips of “Buskin with the Beatles” aren’t cutting it for me. WHERE IS ERIK TAROS? COME BACK! WE MISS THE MAGIC!

dpt1213DisappointingUsed to be free

JST1968Will we ever get full episodes again? This WAS a great podcast. I often listen to old favorite episodes like the two episodes covering the Beatles on tv. I loved hearing the rare interview clip of John and Paul talk with the PBS host in May 1968. They took the interview seriously, but still had fun-Just like this podcast, serious yet fun. Unfortunately, it’s not happening anymore. Bring back the Beatles Naked… please.
-
LitlwulfWas Great Once!Third was a great show atone time. Out of nowhere it turned into clips of a patron only show. It’s worthwhile to binge what shows are available though.
-
JeffyJazzUsed To Be…Used to be the go to podcast for in depth Beatles discussion, but is now just teaser clips for a paid podcast. Unsubbing now.
-
OldFlatTopUsed to be an enjoyable podcast…But now it’s all teasers directing you to the Patreon paywall where the actual content resides. At $240 a year it’s one of the most expensive if you want all the content. I love the Beatles and have been a fan for 55+ years but I can’t justify the cost.
-
Unhappy & Frustrated5 minute commercialsJust short advertisements for recycled content only accessible behind a paywall. What happened to this podcast?
-
DizzyinahazeGreat podcast for Beatles fansIve been listening for a while but I loved the analysis of “Girl” so much I decided to write this review. Melody’s input on the breathing was right on!

Cot4425Look no further to be wowed!Thrilled to have found this podcast! The hosts have such thorough knowledge of all things Beatles and include primary sources like interviews and excerpts found in no other podcasts. I especially appreciate that the entire songs are played (why would you stop a Beatles’ song?) and the deep dive interpretations that follow. The hosts are respectful of each other and the banter is smart and witty. Each episode represents a professional product that begins and ends with quality content, and you might find yourself listening to many of them twice to not miss “every little thing!’

PunkoMusicLove it!I just discovered this podcast recently. Really enjoying their deep dive and look at the Get Back film. It’s clear these guys really know their subject …and also have a deep love for the Beatles. True fans who also know their subject very well,

Steve-m838Just discoveredJust found Ian’s love it. Well done, great topics and material.

rhufhffEpisode 18 Beatles For SaleThis was my first time listening to the podcast. Enjoyed the review of Beatles For Sale(or Beatles 6). What many consider the weakest album in the catalog, I have always liked. The covers are better than the originals, George’s guitar playing is solid, and Ringo’s drumming is top notch. Great job, and I look forward to listening to the rest of the casts

tvfreeStuart Sutcliffe EpisdeI really enjoyed this episode about Stuart Sutcliffe. I knew almost nothing about him and this really inspired me to learn more. His influence on Lennon was very strong. Great podcast.
-
thefootballpodsSo so beautifulWatching Get Back made me fall in love with The Beatles all over again and this podcast is the perfect supplement to take you way way deeper to analyse the entire Beatles discography. It’s the most amazing feeling hearing a Beatles song that you’ve never heard. Sensational work guys. I’m so grateful. Knowledge and humility

Amazon Baby BoomerOne of the bestIt’s always been just the Beatles for me and it’s heartwarming to find such a great podcast. My favorite one so far. I love how the subjects are presented and varied and always songs in the podcasts because, after all, it’s the Beatles. If you love the Beatles, give it a listen.
-
mountart2Great podcastBut lose the separate voices in each channel, it’s super annoying
-
jgreg328Good StuffGreat in depth discussion of all things Beatles. But definitely a bit too much leaning on the playing of songs themselves in the episode. It's okay to play brief clips to accentuate your point. But as Bealtes fans we can go listen to full songs at any time. Here we are looking for more discussion than anything.
-
JagremereSo thankful to have stumbled across thisI have been a Beatle fan since 1964 and while I favor McCartney, I appreciate all things Beatles. I mean, our daughter was born on McCartney’s birthday! I so appreciate the respectful, insightful inside commentary from Richard Buskin and Erik Taros! I learned so much! Thank you for sharing this. You’ve added so much to my Beatle love!
-
NoopysmaFor fans this is a MUST-LISTEN podcast. If you want a seriously great discussion w/ informed people, in an extended format, you will love this. Lots of historical references about the 60’s & really intelligent conversation. Great follow-up if u watched “Get Back”. I’m just shy of retirement age & I’ll never get tired of the Beatles!
-
Maccaluv18Best Beatles pod out thereIt is refreshing to listen to experts talk openly and with respect for each other and the Beatles. No pandering though, just thoughtful, compelling conversation and interesting topics. My favorite pod, I can’t wait for each new episode.
-
KackiGreat Beatles analysisFound this podcast when looking for something that discussed all the gems from ‘Get Back’ documentary. They hit every point I had in my head that I noticed but added even more context to the moments. Now diving into the rest of their episodes.
-
PepibobGet Back!Loved your instant reviews of all three nights of “Get Back”!!! It couldn’t have been easy, and I for one truly appreciate the effort you made. I cannot believe all of the nearly eight hours were so fantastic, and my reactions were much like the ones you had. I cried at the rooftop concert too — at the joy they were experiencing and the joy they were providing, then and now. I watched each night’s episode, then listened to your podcast and re-lived it all over again with the added bonus of you guys maybe highlighting something I missed. Great job and thank you :)
-
dogmightbiteCan’t get enoughI love how these guys go deep into the Beatles records. This show has given me a fresh perspective on the band.

cheerdownJust what I was looking for!First of all, I just want to say that I came here mainly because I had heard other podcasts with Richard Buskin and always loved his coverage of all things Beatles. He has the voice of engaging audiobook reader. So I was not disappointed to see his name attached to this podcast and have been listening to a few episodes and must say that this is for anyone who wants to take a deeper dive into some fascinating topics. I love how they include snippets of music here and there, much of which I had never heard before. Favorite episodes so far have been the one on the Beatlesque and the later Harrison years. Just love this! Thanks to both of you for putting out such a wonderful podcasts; makes my long commutes as a health care worker during this pandemic a bit easier to bear each day.
-
BonyBirdI love this podcast but...I’m hoping Beatles Naked will do a podcast on the Beatles musical development: Notable guitar solos, harmony singing, bass playing , style cop-ing, technical development as players, studio tricks , and so on . Sure , this kind of appreciation and analysis has been done by others, but the Beatles Naked could do it better.
-
la cheeseryWow my favorite!!These guys are so fantastic thoughtful and enthusiastic. I can’t believe how much time and research has gone into this podcast. Of course they are mostly relying their years of fandom and professional skills. Just wonderful thanks guys. p s SWINGING THROUGH THE SIXTIES Podcast is equally exceptional and I certainly appreciate all the great entertainment!!!

Maxwell909Excellent PodcastThis is an excellent podcast. The hosts are very knowledgeable and express their views articulately. They have a nice rapport and inject humor when appropriate which results in a podcast that is both informative and entertaining. The only reason I gave this four stars instead of five is due to the occasional introduction of politics into the dialogue. I listen to podcasts such as this to escape from that sort of polarizing content. That is really the only negative thing I can point to. Overall, highly recommended to anyone who wants to increase their knowledge of the Beatles and have an enjoyable time doing so.
-
Dad RadAwesome Beatles insight!Love this podcast! My wife and I been listening to it on our daily winter NE walks. You two just do an amazing job talking about everything Beatles and many great song clips and interviews. Learned so much. I am 63 now but didn’t discover the Beatles until my senior yr of HS in 75. RIP John and George. So much great music in 10 to short yrs.
-
Everything’s JakeGreat Beatles podcastI learn so much from the hosts’ knowledge of the Beatles.
-
RocketMan*Excellent Except when they veer into PoliticsJust stay focused on the Beatles, keep your politics out, and this is quite possibly the very best podcast out there on the Beatles. Truly outstanding.
-
UnlposauneGreat stuff! This is one of the few Beatles podcasts that actually plays the music the guys are talking about. I loved the Twickenham episode. I don’t need to dig up all of my bootlegs. They have it covered.
-
Wink55FabtasticThese guys tell it like it is. Good or bad. There are no ‘Beatles Colored Glasses’ here. This is what separates them from the usual ‘fanboy’ Beatles podcast. Informative and entertaining.
-
Michigan Reviewer 2.TitleFantastic. One of the most interesting podcasts on any subject. In this case, fortunately, it's The Beatles. Edit: After listening to this more and more, I'd say it's the best podcast on the Beatles.)
-
susanvcbrownThe Beatles are endlessly fascinatingThis series pulls you right in to their music and personalities. There is a lot of speculation about the what went through the guys’ heads at the time, but the hosts may very well understand those thoughts better than the Beatles even did. I’m betting the hosts “remember” Beatles history better than Paul or Ringo might because the series’ creators have done so much digging. It would be interesting to actually have Paul or Ringo on the show to lend their version of the truth. Why don’t you ask them 😜? Of course I loved hearing all the music for the umpteenth time. There was even some music I’d never heard. That was worth the price of admission right there. Thank you so much for this labor of love.

LKarpYou missed a couple of big onesEnjoyed the Beatle soundalike and/or inspired by episode however I think you missed a few significant ones. They are: Stackridge- The Man in the Bowler Hat or as it was titled in the States, Pinafore Days. Though not outright imitating them, the writing, singing and production could have been Abbey Road Pt 2(from 70s) Utopia-Deface the Music. Todd Rundgrens homage to the boys(1980) Raspberries. This band was heavily influenced by the early Beatles, McCartney in particular. Emitt Rhodes(his 2nd album). Entirely written, played and I believe produced by him. Very early solo McCartneyesque. I recall Rolling Stone calling it at the time the solo album Paul should have made. Billy Joel. The Nylon Curtain. The only Joel album I’ve ever really enjoyed. Lennon influence is all over it. Anyhow, agree or disagree, this old Beatle fan really enjoys your podcast. Keep up the good work. Stay healthy, Lew Karp
-
TSLemireGreat listenIf you are someone (like me) who knows more about The Beatles' lives than you remember about your own, and you talk about Beatle history and anecdotes as if you were there, chances are good to excellent you will (like me) enjoy this podcast. Thoughtful, indepth, funny, and entertaining!
-
finfan64Best of the genreThis current incarnation of the podcast is terrific, these guys are the most knowledgeable and articulate in the business. They select interesting topics and speak from a factual basis rather than speculation which is always a challenge for podcasters. The one minor negative is that they all fall in line with the Beatles expert version of political correctness, namely overly praising George and lamenting his supposed unfairly diminished status. 5 stars will go to the first Beatle podcaster who proclaims the obvious: that George was clearly and deservedly number 3. But he was number 3 in........the f.....g Beatles! A pretty good position to be in. No reason to pity him. But anyway, these guys do a great job.
-
Easton PA listenerFab!What a thorough, balanced, and well considered treatment given to every podcast subject. Richard and Eric’s friendly rapport is so inviting. I look forward to each episode, and listen straight through at the first opportunity. Keep up the good work!
-
whitem8The Beatles caught with their knickers down! What’s not to love here? Two great hosts Erik and Richard have a great rapport, are fun, unpretentious, and full of passion for the Fab Four.
-
SpongeBobbyHil589Lose Pete BestOverall really well produced, researched, good discussions on varying Beatles topics. Fun hearing the many outtakes and interviews. Where "Something About the Beatles" had a Siskel and Ebert back and forth critical argumenst, this podcast has 4 different hosts. There seems to be a good rapport between them except the "musician." His asides always sideline the conversations. Sounds like he's recording inside of a closet. Still need to find your Ringo.

TWK71653Re: “Beatles for Sale” episodeI believe you would serve your audience better if you would offer historical context that helps explain why some things about the Beatles are the way they are. Geoff Emerick, for example, included in his memoir a fairly detailed description of a nine or ten hour recording session in which the Beatles rapidly recorded seven songs for “Beatles for Sale,” and also took time to complete “Eight Day’s a Week.” This one-day session was squeezed into the Beatles’ only day off from a stretch in a tour. You did acknowledge in your episode that the band was tired from all their activity in prior months. But clearly they were almost running on fumes, yet there was an EMI deadline for completing a new album. What else would have necessitated recording half the record in ten hours if not a severe time crunch? With that kind of pressure, George Martin was loath to entertain too much creative exploration. For example, Emerick describes Martin spurning a suggestion from George Harrison that he could do his guitar part on one song better if he had another go; Martin tells him, no, they have to move on. The much-despised organ solo in “Mr. Moonlight” is another example, the result of Martin deeming Harrison’s sonically unusual guitar solo “too weird” (Emerick’s words). Again, the time factor resulted in a less-than-optimal situation to collectively think the problem through. I’m certainly not blaming Martin for the mixed achievement that is “ Beatles for Sale,” , nor do I fault the band. I don’t think blame or fault or excuses are at all required here. The album needed to happen because of a release schedule, and they drew from their past to get it done quickly. I mention all this because I would enjoy your show more if you balanced history with your opinions and arguments. More than a half century of Beatleness warrants actual Beatles scholarship, and there is plenty around today for you to draw upon.

Joe SRQEntertainment to the max!As a lifelong Beatles fan I’ve listened to just about everything I could ever find via radio specials and now podcast concerning the Beatles. I’d have to say the ‘Swinging through the Sixties’ podcast is one of the most interesting and entertaining programs I’ve ever heard. The shows are amazingly well thought out and the production values are off the charts. I easily see myself going back for a second, third, and fourth listen. I highly recommend this podcast to Beatles fans an historians alike. Don’t miss this show! Joe Stewart The white album project’

Robert_DCWonderful treat for the ears and mindOne of the best podcasts on the Beatles, offering great insight into the group and beyond that into the great music of the sixties. The hosts (Richard Buskin and Erik Taros) and their guests are engaging and their conversation offers new takes on some great music.
-
Melodye BFabInformative, entertaining, creative and humorous. The stories and the music bring back memories of a groovy and controversial era.
-
trent 1960Great podcast ⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟🌟These guys are great. The show is very interesting, informative and fun. It is five stars all the way. I guess I should say it’s groovy. They discuss politics, culture, and music . I have enjoyed every episode.
-
PrinceHarmingExcellent podcastGreat podcast about a wide range of 60s pop culture and history. Episodes about specific Beatles albums, lesser known events, a week-in-the-life from 1968 is one episode. Each episode has a lot of music or authentic sound bites peppered in. Love it, can’t wait for each new episode.
-
Ed KaxSuper FabThese fellows are super knowledgeable and cool conversationalists. I’ve been a Beatles guy from day one and thought I knew it all. Wow was I wrong. Keep it up gents!
-
ChristopherK78Great Show!I really enjoy the show, but I especially loved the Rubber Soul/Revolver show. Such a great period for the band and so much to discuss. Thank you!
