CatersaLove this podcastI love this podcast. The musical decisions episode especially really hit me cause as a pianist, I have to make my own decisions about the music. And you’re absolutely right about it varying by composer. I mean take dynamics for instance. I use a wider dynamic range for Beethoven than Mozart, like not just between pp and ff, but between each step of dynamic, it’s wider in Beethoven.

LieppyEnjoyable and informativeI’ve learned lots and enjoyed it. Will there be more episodes? Miss new ones

Mary Hierholzer JacobsThe music class I always wished forAs a lifelong classical music enthusiast with no formal training whatsoever, this podcast is truly the music class I always wished I could take. Each episode leaves me with greater technical and artistic understanding, and hits just the right balance to be accessible for a lay audience. The hosts feel relatable, knowledgeable, pleasant, and invested. I’ve recommended Attention to Detail to many friends and family members!

yveyveyeeClassical music, delightfully demystifiedLow stakes, easy uptake, introduction to the joys and the brilliance of the music itself. Highly reccommend early episodes on melody, harmony, rhythm, and form.

Ian SaylorGreat detailFun podcast, one of my favorites, though I’ve just started listening and need to catch up on some older episodes. Also, no way to prove it, but I did in fact get 7/7 on the Mozart, Haydn or other quiz. Anyway, if you like classical music, or music podcasts generally, give this one a try.

Optimist runnerTalking about musicFar too much meandering discussion, and gets way down into the weeds. Need many more musical examples to ground the discussion in actual music.

k.eve.2019Cannot recommend enough! So glad this podcast exists! And can’t wait for more. As someone with zero background knowledge or experience with classical music, I find it at times to be incredibly intimidating but an intensely intriguing and valuable art form that I want to know more about. This pod really helps do that. Thanks! Will be sharing this with everyone I know!
