Sarita7981Mix it upGood podcast and informative episodes. But please mix it up with different guests. Martin is on way too often, and his freeloading ways off other expeditions is cringe worthy. Not a model climber.

Corporate wealthfareAfter listening to the debrief of the season, my thoughts.First off, gratitude for this podcast. As an endurance athlete who happens to be an adaptive athlete. Listening to Uphill Athlete really made an impact on me with different perspectives and insight from sports I am into and are not. As a team you all inspire us athletes to dig deeper, get our mind and body connection balanced through adventure, and love the journey. My suggestion for next season is I would love to hear from adaptive athlete. Love you all! Please keep this podcast going. ☝🏻❤️

julietunaDeep Convos for Mountain & Nature LoversFor anyone captivated by the mountains and pursuing your passion there—no matter your level—this podcast is a must-listen. Some episodes focus on training, while others explore our relationship with the mountains and the profound beauty of nature. Steve, a world-class mountaineer, brings exceptional insight and perspective to every episode. His brilliance and empathy as an interviewer allow conversations to go deep, straight to the heart and soul.

DauntlessazImpactful! This Cory Richards podcast is amazing - Steve pulled off a Howard Stern level interview. I was blown away by how effective Steve was in getting Cory to share his insights - he had a lot to say and you helped him say it. All that and a beautiful collection of words to set it all up, “When you shed useless beliefs, you may feel shame, probably relief, definitely exhaustion, take heart. Exhaustion proceeds renewal.” So well done…

AbbyJ1987Loving “Voice of the Mountains”I am captivated by Steve’s new series “Voice of the Mountains”. I don’t think I’ve ever come across anything quite like it in podcasting before. I really appreciate all of your insight, perspective, and sharing openly and honestly.
-
J. SparksGuest suggestionI would love to hear Steve and Mark Twight tell story. Maybe go over how Mark used to train for climbs.

gsm10Great podcastI’m a 52 year old female who continues to enjoy mountaineering, strength training, endurance running, and all things uphill athlete as I age. I love listening to this podcast for the incredible wealth and depth of knowledge the speakers share, and the top-notch athlete-coach minds that come together on this show. The folks who are in this podcast are the pinnacles of mountaineering knowledge, and they literally wrote the books on climbing, mountaineering, trail running and ski touring. I’m so grateful they share what they know with the rest of us. Words cant describe how awesome this podcast is. Thank you guys so much.
-
Evangelyn MWInspiring and informativeI love this podcast. As an ultra runner that really only runs to train for climbing mountains and bowhunting and skiing… it is so fun to listen to others who love the mountains and are doing inspirational big efforts without the repetitive, redundancy of so many podcasts that only focus on running. Loved the specific episodes on workouts and muscular endurance. Steve what a legend! I loved your book and have loved the evolution of this podcast. Alyssa Clark you are so inspiring. Thank you all for sharing your expertise with the world.

the b manGame ChangerWelcome to the Steve House era of mountain fitness. Uphill Athlete is on a mission to bring real objective based training to the masses and the relevant sports will never be the same. Alyssa is an amazing host and the podcast is a perfect addition to the steadily increasing content from UA. I am a mountaineer and still find amazing gems of knowledge in the trail running series. Most of us will likely never achieve Killian level fitness, but this is how to reach your personal potential. I am convinced that House, and the team he is building at Uphill Athlete, will be responsible for the bar being raised across mountain endurance sports. Thanks Steve, truly the great white hope of Alpinism (sorry)

DjbayirdProtestWhile one of the guests was encouraging people to protest , about the concern about the environmental issues , the host said if anyone objects , they can just shut up , I possibly gave up a successful career in a sport I will not name because I didn’t really see how it would help our world , and in general no one who is an adult involved in recreational sports or professional sports is essentially contributing to the problem of global warming my grandparents who live across the street from me during my childhood never owned a car , and never had air conditioning, and raised a big garden , of course they had heat because it was needed , this is the first time I’ve ever reviewed a podcast and I have listen to hundreds and even helped increase global warming buy buying a copy of the uphill athlete , my question is as always where do start cutting , do we cut trail running first or the Tour de France, or F1, or nascar , I was having this conversation with one of my sons about a year ago , and he used the example of to farmers that lived close to each other and one had poor crop because his land was less fertile instead of dependence on commercial fertilizer the more fortunate farmer should probably share with the less fortunate, I think Boeing is one of the top employers in the northwest USA, your only allowed to protests if you agree with me , was basically how the podcast ended , I don’t expect tho host or the protest ppl , to unplug there a/c any time soon , and neither would I ask them to but clearly they are not thinking , recently a small trucking company 30 truck s , was considering going green with electric trucks this was in Michigan , the utility company said there was no way they could supply him with that kind of power , more dangerous than global warming is people saying you can only protest if you agree with me , I hope this is helpful but it’s probably not

ircommandoTerrific contentI am just getting started in mountaineering objectives after doing actions sports most of my life. I really appreciate all the knowledge that UA shares. As I move to more endurance based sports I appreciate the analysis that gives me confidence to move forward with my program. Super excited to get up on higher mountains and deeper into the wilderness

MxturboMust listenOne of the best training podcasts. Have also used a few of their training programs. Helped me summit my second 8000M peaks, 10 years after my first. As an aging weekend warrior, training has become key, and this podcast has had a huge impact.
-
musicluvverGreat content!!!As a runner, I absolutely love the content and the books! Very inspirational, motivational, relatable, & educational. My ok my constructive feedback, and the reason I did not give 5 stars is due to Steve, as well as former host Scott, have terrible mic quality. Not sure if it is due to using a built-in computer mic, sitting far away from the mix, or sitting in an echo chamber of a room. All new hosts and guests always have far better audio. Steve, please get a new mic and sound proof your office/studio.
-
Elevated.tvInvaluable information for endurance athletes.A great companion to the books and website of the same name. The editing and production could use a little tightening up, but enjoyable nonetheless.

GSWW-Poor structure/template, strong content/potentialI am an admirer of everything UA, especially their coaches’ deep expertise and demonstrated passion in their contributions to uphill athletics. I have gained from the collective UA team in my trail/mountain/ultra running, ski mountaineering and increasingly my passion for hike/fly paragliding. However, their knowledge and experience are not being adequately translated into consumable, actionable podcast content. Why? Listeners would benefit from a consistent format or template for the podcast content, which could include a single dependable host/interviewer, a stated (and adhered-to) agenda, or even a formulaic approach to applying a common training philosophy or methodology to disciplines that share commonalities. In too many of these podcasts, my experience has been that of listening to rambling or ad-hoc or even idiosyncratic training chatter, rather than consuming an actionable, theme-driven and concise treatment of a topic.
-
giopilli1Great and very informative podcastThe most informative podcast for training for any mountain or climbing sport. Would be great to have a video-blog of these interviews too..
-
fpoonlineCouldn’t get past the audio problemsI tried to listen to six different episodes, but unfortunately in each case the extraneous clicks and scraping sounds made it unlistenable for me. (Sounds like maybe Scott Johnston was not using a proper mic but perhaps one of those sub-standard inline mics in an earbud set, and banging it around against his neck or shirt?) The content looked interesting but I’m afraid I won’t be subscribing. Best wishes on the podcast!
-
robert f freeportDistracting soundsLove the podcasts but would love them more if all I heard were voices. Super informative and inspirational. Thanks for putting these out.
-
NiWolvGood workGreat show. I love the insights and athlete interviews. I’ve been encouraged by the topics and the side conversations that emerge as a result. I would suggest having the host turn their phone into airplane mode or silencing it because it is distracting to hear text messages come in during the show.
-
RuchikaSinghalAwesome podcastScott and Steve’s knowledge and expertise in mountain sports is unparalleled. A must listen for anyone remotely interested in any mountain related adventures!
-
Alaska MimDistractionsI really appreciate the great information but it sounds like someone is playing with/shuffling a deck of cards or something and it is very distracting.
-
marisa181818Super informative!I really enjoy listening to this podcast. The conversation and information is so great and practical!
