Mwatso32Adopted listenerGreat documentary style podcast. I’m not donor conceived, but was adopted at birth and it was a closed adoption. I found my birth parents and half siblings in my 30s, after starting my search in high school. I know it’s not the same, but I experienced so many of the same thoughts and emotions portrayed in this podcast. I hope this helps a lot of people going through a search and hope it helps other people understand. It’s not always easy to put yourself out there and discuss such personal and emotional stories, but everyone who shared stories on the show did an amazing job. Would love to listen to more!

A satisfied dasherForever gratefulLouise’s podcast has opened up the whole other side of my life that I’d always known about and was always told openly about, but unfortunately had never really met and connected with anyone who was born donor conceived. This podcast made me find a home and s community I’d always been searching for and didn’t know where to start. I love this podcast because it acknowledges all of the different types of stories that come with this. I love it because it’s vulnerable, and hard, but loving and accepting. I cannot believe I found the community I belong to so late in the game (age 34) but it’s always better late than never.

ALFCSMITHDefinitely recommend this podcastEven as a non-donor conceived individual, I found this to be an amazing, heartwarming and heart-breaking podcast. This is such a great examination of the concept of who we are, how biology really does play a part of our self-identity, and how we as different societies regulate (or don’t regulate) this multi-BILLION dollar industry. The stories from the donor conceived individuals and their experiences are worth the listen.

SwassypopoRelatableGreat show. I’m donor conceived and it hasn’t been easy on this path of discovery. It’s nice to hear other people who are going through the same process.

DashdoodleA masterpieceI came to this podcast because I used a sperm donor to conceive my infant son and I wanted to better understand what his experience might be growing up. I stayed for the gripping documentary style story telling. This is an incredible podcast to listen to even if you’ve never met a donor conceived person - everyone I’ve recommended it to has thanked me. It’s a beautiful piece of journalism which highlights voices so often overlooked and it’s a must listen

StguisyHelpful for a newly discovered DC personI just found out I am a donor conceived person three days ago. I didn’t even know the proper thing to google. I think I started with “finding out you’re a sperm donor baby.” I listened to all the episodes in the last 24 hours and it was incredibly validating to hear others speak the unsaid thoughts and feelings I’ve been having, as well as have my husband hear and understand it all at a much deeper level as he tries to support me through it. Two things I’d love for future episodes to cover: 1) interviews with parents of DC people from the 70s/80s/90s who didn’t think to ask more questions, especially if they have zero info about the donor and 2) the grief of learning your lifelong siblings you grew up with are only half-genetically related to you because your parents didn’t use the same donor.

ClassicalERefreshingly Candid Podcast❣︎Mesmerizing presentation, on a very touchy topic. This is a potentially pivotal project that could be instrumental in getting a more broad awareness out in the world & overall acceptance of alternative reproductive methods...& the realities of dismissing basic human ethics. Life, liberty, & justice for all...right?! Donor Conceived human beings deserve fairness & consideration, too. I love all the contributing heart-felt journeys. This subject will not be silenced & stashed away like a safely-guarded secret. I’m looking forward to hearing the conversations continue, Lou.💞

nanaimo_barTouching storiesThis thoughtful and occasionally heart-wrenching podcast by Louise McLoughlin perfectly captures the exciting, distressing, and occasionally hilarious experiences of people created by sperm or egg donation. A must listen for donor conceived people, their parents, or anyone interested in learning more about the complications of being created by third party reproduction.

Turtle2TurtleCompelling and well producedThis is not just for those who have someone donor conceived in their lives. The issues discussed are unique and current and the stories are compelling. The production is very professional. Four episodes in and I am hooked.

LaurenDJKGive it a listenI found this podcast on Twitter. This is so well done, a pleasure to listen to. Great sound mixing, a good mix of personal stories from the creator as well as interviews. I’ve been immersed in stories about donor conceived people since I found out I myself am “DC” a few years ago. I was honestly worried I’d be bored listening since I “know it all,” but the way each person’s stories are explored and intertwined is compelling, engaging, and connected to broader themes about identity, family, relationships, truth, and existence. Well done, keep it up, and I will be sharing this wonderful podcast with others. Thank you for making this.

CoolCheese1Rereshing and engagingAn incredible dive into the stories and narratives of donor conceived people as Louise takes the audience on her journey. Our community is so often misunderstood and it is empowering to hear our stories by someone who lived through the experience discovering the truth of our genetic identities.

shk80Great new podcast!Super touching story that helps convey the depth of questions of identity that donor-conceived people ask themselves in a way that I hadn’t fully appreciated. Wonderful, intimate story telling. Can’t wait to hear the rest of the series!

Js11111111Important and touchingHumans have a knack for doing things with unforeseen consequences and I hope that one day there is serious reform of the fertility industry. This podcast I see as part of that solution. You don’t have to make a strong case for that reform, all you have to do is look at the facts carefully, and that’s what this podcast does...finally. Thank you Louise!
