    Lost without you
I am lost without your podcast. I have listened to all of them from the very beginning and now I’ve gone back to the very beginning again and I’m listening to them a second time. You accompanied me while I got dressed in the morning while I was cooking, walking, and while working out in the garden. You are the most interesting podcast out there and bring a huge sense of calm in these really turbulent times. I know you are busy and have so many other interests, but please consider resuming. Maybe if you have run out of subjects consider doing people. Or just do once a month or something. Throw us a bone out here in the USA as we battle to save Democracy. Actually one subject I would really like you to do is the use of capital letters. When and where do we use them?

    Oh, no! Cheerio!
The last episode rather abruptly dropped on April 2, 2025. This was one of my favorite pods and I shall miss it.

    Interesting TidBits
I look forward to the variety of topics. Good brain stimulation while being entertained. Your team has a great rapport, easy listening voices, and a format just the right length of time. I’m working on catching up with all previous episodes because I find myself deep in the rabbit hole!

Such a treat for an Anglophile
I just listened to the most recent episode (#99) and found it such a treat! This was my first taste of this podcast and I will definitely be diving in further. I have quite a bit of catching up to do!

Wait for the new podcast to drop every week!
I really enjoy listening to this podcast - I always learn something new and interesting and the hosts are just fabulous! Each brings something unique to the podcast! I really do wait each week, with great anticipation, for the new podcast to drop - which either says a lot about how fabulous the podcast is or how dull my life is in general- I choose to go with the former! Today was a day of great excitement because my copy of The Rabbit Hole Book arrived - it was a little tricky to order here in the American southwest, but when one is determined there is always a way!

    WOW!
I listen to a lot of different podcasts. occasionally, I I will stop listening to the current podcast and jump over to a new podcast that had just been dropped. Rabbit hole detectives is one of those podcasts. I love the variety of topics special and mundane, The repertoire between the host is amazing. it is obvious they are friends and we are just sitting in on a conversation that would’ve happened anyway!

    Simply Delightful
This podcast has become a top favorite of mine, for its unusual information and high spirits. The three hosts are wickedly smart and entertaining—their banter is endlessly fun, and listening in just puts you in a wonderful headspace.

    A must hear history podcast
I’ve been bing listening to this Podcast since I found it a week ago. It’s been a relief deleting all the news Podcasts I get without listening to them. This has been much more pleasant than the daily horrors and Trump. Also, an absolute must hear podcast for anyone who reads history. The only thing I would like to see them change is listing some of the sources for what they’re finding each episode.

I find myself eagerly anticipating episodes each week.

    Brilliant!
I never miss an episode. The “Rabbit Holers” are informative and humorous as they share interesting facts about unusual topics.

    Brilliant!
I adore you three. Smart, funny, informative. You have great chemistry. Feels very conversational in the moment although I know you all come armed with facts and fun tidbits. I only learned about the podcast through Charles’s new book, A Very Private School (I just started it and anticipate a good read). This needs to be brought to people’s attention more. I’m doing my part. I’m telling everyone I can!

    Just makes me happy!
I can’t remember how I found this show, but I’m glad I did. I feel like I’m sitting in a cozy little coffee shop listening to my friends expound on the topics of the week and I look forward to it every time!

    Trivia Facts and Fun
I look forward every week to the latest installment of The Rabbit Hole Detectives. Richard, Charles and Cat are 3 friends who make us feel like we’re sitting and laughing with them. Great podcast!

    Interesting and fun
I’ve binged all of the episodes and now look forward to each new one… Love the humor and banter between Charles, Richard, and Cat Intelligent and no one takes themselves too seriously. The array of subjects is fascinating and makes great little facts to repeat at cocktail parties, highly recommended.

    Not your average podcast
So happy to have found these three Rabbit Hole Detectives. Learning the history of so much stuff has and continues to be an absolute thrill! In my car, doing projects and walking the dog, I can’t get enough!

Witches, shipwrecks, kings, and Kippers! Oh my!
Absolutely love this series! I have loved getting to learn so much fascinating information! Best podcast for my ADD and OCD. This podcast has kept my Brian working as I’ve recovered from another grueling surgery and has cheered me up in general. I think it’s because when the Detectives share these topics I relate to them, and I absolutely love learning about their personal experiences and personalities. Highly recommend! Thank you Rabbit Hole Detectives! (And the disembodied voice). 🙏🏻💜

R.e. Statue of Liberty being a curiously French symbol for immigrants seeking religious freedom and economic opportunity in the United States to pass beneath? The special relationship stems from the crucial military aid France supplied to the Patriots in the Revolutionary War to turn the tide against the British ;) !!! 🤙 j’apprécie le chat

    Love it
Really enjoy the random talks. Cat, please please slow down and don’t talk soooo fast. I have to put the show on .75x speed just to listen to you talk in an understandable pace.

Cozy with a side of capital punishment chat
I found this podcast after hearing Dr Cat return to Gone Medieval and I’m enjoying making my way through the back catalogue. The rapport between the three hosts is thoroughly enjoyable. The insights into their backgrounds are just as interesting in my opinion. And I appreciate their fact checker (the “Disembodied Voice”) and looking forward to series 5 reveal of their identity ;) No, it is not perfect and nothing will ever be, but their effort and willingness to put this out into the world is appreciated.

    Curiosity satiation
Ever pondered the origin of something obscure & never had the satisfaction of finding out? The RHD are here to cure this malady - no longer will you be irritated by the unknown origins of ‘lidos’ or other seemingly un-discoverable facts. Listen & learn!

    Wonderful, enjoyable podcast
My superpower is being a repository for useless information. This podcast adds to my store. Each week it features three topics you’ve probably never thought about much, and they are absolutely fascinating. The presenters are intelligent, witty, and great fun, and the topics are well researched and delightfully interesting. I look forward to it dropping every week.

    Excellent podcast
Listened to the latest episode. It was wonderful but speakers were talking too fast.

    So enjoyable, witty and educational
I love this podcast for its wit and friendly nature of the hosts, all of whom bring valuable perspectives to the topics at hand. I enjoy listening on long daily commutes, long-haul flights and at home while relaxing. I recommend a listen, but savor each episode to make the seasons last longer.
  • Silly Puppies
    Latest episode very frustrating
Topics all interesting, however would someone PLEASE have Rev. Coles STOP INTERRUPTING the other two hosts. His constant interruptions with long rambling tangents, ruins natural flow of ideas & discussion, is infuriating to this listener. It’s so bad it ruins the fun of the podcast. Argh!

    The Lowdown on Everything
I stumbled onto this podcast after hearing Cat talking on a history podcast — and now it’s one of my favorites. These three very erudite, clever, and amusing folks pick three topics, go down a rabbit hole to learn more about them, and share it all with us in a delightful way. I’m learning lots and hugely entertained along the way. Highly recommended.

    A Winner
Very informative and interesting. The presenters are very knowledgeable and likable. History can be a very dry subject, it is made entertaining. Very definitely recommend.

    My favorite podcast

    Uplifting
Fascinating tidbits of knowledge delivered by the most soothing threesome of voices. This podcast is utterly enjoyable, parsing out details on subjects from dueling to Evelyn Waugh (my favorite so far). Every hour ends leaving you feeling better for the time spent learning about so many topics, particularly ones that you would never have thought you were interested in in the first place. Thanks, Detectives!

Smart, witty and a bit cheeky
Listening to Cat Jarman, Charles Spencer and the Rev. Richard Coles is a highlight of the week. All are smart, superbly-educated people who are also witty, genuine, and a bit cheeky. The fun they have reporting on their assigned topics and interacting with each other adds to my enjoyment. I have learned so much on a variety of fascinating subjects. It is hard to wait a week for the next episode!

    These are my people
I've listened earnestly, repeated with glee the obscure facts (giving credit, of course), and recommended this to anyone and everyone who would listen to me! I love this podcast - it's fun and informative, frank and humorous, engaging and heartfelt. LOVE IT. Can't wait for the next episode! Xoxo!
  • Miss VeeVee
    Fascinating!
Each week three very interesting topics are discussed. The listener will enjoy how these three meander down the rabbit hole as one topic leads to the next. I thoroughly recommend!!

I adore this podcast. It’s witty, charming, and unexpectedly erudite. I will be sad when I’ve caught up and have to wait for one episode a week.

It’s worth everything! I love the Rabbit Hole Detectives. Your research has inspired my design process and made me a little bit wiser.

Like a moth to a flame!
No matter the media I’m consuming—television, movies, books—, I’ve always found myself indulging in further explorations on the most peculiar and singular of subjects. This podcast takes this hobby of mine, mixes in delightful discussion among fascinating individuals, and builds up a repertoire of trivia that I can’t wait to use one day. Bravi to the cast of the podcast, and thank you for creating such a wonderful time each week. Now, if only I could get my topic assignment from Dr. Jarman…
